Michel Chossudovsky is a Canadian economist. He is a professor of economics at the University of Ottawa.
He says: « The evidence confirms that al-Qaeda did not play a role in 9/11. But in fact, that in itself is a red herring, because al-Qaeda is a U.S.-sponsored intelligence asset ». And: « What I’ve done in my writings is to show that the official narrative or explanation regarding 9/11 can be refuted, namely that the official narrative is a lie ».

Chossudovsky has taught as visiting professor at academic institutions in Western Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia, has acted as economic adviser to governments of developing countries and has worked as a consultant for international organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the African Development Bank, the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (AIEDEP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Health Organisation (WHO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). In 1999, Chossudovsky joined the Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research as an adviser.
Chossudovsky is past president of the Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies. He is a member of research organisations that include the Committee on Monetary and Economic Reform (COMER), the Geopolitical Drug Watch (OGD) (Paris)and the International People’s Health Council (IPHC).
He is an active member of the anti-war movement in Canada, has written extensively on the war in Yugoslavia, and has been involved in the propagation of alternate theories regarding the September 11 terrorist attacks.[1] He is a frequent contributor to Le Monde diplomatique, Third World Resurgence and Covert Action Quarterly. His publications have been translated into more than twenty languages. His latest book is titled America’s « War on Terrorism ».
He is editor for the Centre for Research on Globalization, which operates a website at globalresearch.ca. The Centre for Research on Globalization states to be « committed to curbing the tide of « globalisation » and « disarming » the New World Order ». Book Review: Michel Chossudovsky’s ‘America’s War On Terrorism’, by Edward W Miller, MD – For those who don’t believe everything they read in the press, and discredit much of the material presented on CNN and FOX NEWS, I’d like to recommend this recent paperback (available from Amazon.com @ $14.92 at last check). The author, and friend is Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and Director of the Center for Global Research. Chossudovsky’s earlier book: THE GLOBALIZATION OF POVERTY has been read worldwide, having been translated into over 20 languages. In this latest book, Michel reports in detail, with well-documented sources, the politics behind the 9/11 bombing, as well as Washington’s real interest in Afghanistan/ Pakistan, the US’ use of Mujahadeen fighters both in destroying Soviet control in Afghanistan and today, in seizing control of both Kosovo and Macedonia, as Big Oil with US assistance, plans a corridor for safe oil/gas transport from the Caspian Sea region. Chossudovsky outlines in detail the Clinton/Albright plan to disassemble the Yugoslav Federation, create ethnic and political unrest in Croatia, Bosnia- Herzegovina and other states, while setting up Serbia for 78 days of destructive bombing.. He investigates the political background for Washington’s « pre-emptive War » strategy as it applies to the invasion of Iraq. As a specialist in economics, Michel’s insight into the commercial as well as the political forces which drive our military interventions around the world is particularly valuable.
